timetable
This new-generation public transport timetable, which is rather called a timetable board by passengers, uses AUDIS and DORIS, highly sophisticated information and communication systems for dispatch control of urban public transport. It enables this elaborate information technology to be opened towards passengers and current transport information shared with them.
Great emphasis is placed on removing barriers in communication. That's why the new public transport timetable contributes to the long-term effort by Dopravní podnik hl.m. Prahy, a.s. (Prague Transit Company) to make transport as easy as possible for handicapped people. Passengers are provided with updated information about arriving low-floor vehicles. An integrated signal receiver for the blind ensures the standard function of an acoustic beacon for better spatial orientation. All visually displayed data are transformed into voice format upon command from a remote control.
The technical concept of the public transport timetable is based on the pillars of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
